Dr. Mark S. Cantieri
- Dr. Cantieri graduated from Creighton University with a BA in psychology in 1978.
- He graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, IA in 1981.
- He completed a fellowship program in osteopathic manipulative medicine at the University in 1982 and then a rotating internship at Des Moines General Hospital in 1983.
- He performed general practice for the next three years before becoming the associate director of the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at Phoenix General Hospital.
- In 1990 Dr. Cantieri moved to South Bend, Indiana to become the Director of Medical Education of the former Michiana Community Hospital, In 1993 he established Corrective Care, a private medical practice devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of difficult pain problems. Dr. Cantieri is board certified in osteopathic manipulative medicine.
Dr. Cantieri is a member of the American Academy of Osteopathy, a member of its board of trustees and Past-President of the Academy from 1999-2000. He is an Affiliate Clinical Instructor of Family Medicine at Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is a former chair of the Academy's Hospital Assistance Committee and a member of its Bureau of Experts and its Medical Education Committee. He is a 1996 graduate of the American Osteopathic Association and Ohio University and Michigan State University fellowship program in health policy. In March of 1997 Dr. Cantieri was elevated to the status of Fellow of the American Academy of Osteopathy, one of only 75 physicians in this country to receive this recognition. He is past Chairman of the Indiana Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons Committee on Legislative Affairs and is a member of the American Association of Orthopedic Medicine and the American Osteopathic Association.
Dr. Cantieri is married to Becky Cantieri and is the father of Jyl, Marcus, Daniel and Emily.
