In the mid-1960s, I was involved in a toboggan accident. We hit a bump, and I was injured after summer-saulting over the toboggan. I never went on a toboggan again!
After the accident, I began to have headaches three-to-four times per week. These headaches made me feel miserable, though I still was able to work. I tried many different types of manipulation which provided short-term relief, but nothing was available to provide long-term relief.
When prolotherapy emerged as a viable treatment for injured ligaments and tendons, I wanted to look into this as a treatment for my injury. I contacted Dr. Brad Sandler to discuss the possibility of using prolotherapy for my headaches.
We decided to try it, and after only two treatments, my recurrent headaches stopped. I was happy to finally find relief for these persistent headaches.
I would encourage anyone who experiences headaches as a result of an injury to look into prolotherapy as a treatment option. These headaches are the kind where the pain starts at the back of the head, goes over the top of the head and behind the eyes. Prolotherapy has made a positive difference in my life, it could help you as well.
