I am writing in behalf of Drs. Cantieri and Sandler regarding prolotherapy. I have found this procedure to be very helpful for many of my patients who had chronic back pain, refractory to other forms of therapy including prolonged physical therapy, epidural cortisone injections x 3 and neurosurgical or back surgery consultation. After one or two sessions of prolotherapy the patients have reported tremendous improvement. I have also noticed that they don't return to the office for back pain.
I would hope that you would strongly consider approving this procedure, as I think it would be quite cost effective in the long-run. The cost of an MRI scan, surgical consultation, and physical therapy is certainly not to be ignored. Also find Drs. Cantieri and Sandler to be quite scientific in their approach towards prolotherapy.
